The Alishan Forest Railway was badly damaged in August 2009 by Typhoon Morakot. For the time being, the only way to get to the Alishan Forest Recreation Area is by the mountain roads. You can either drive or take the Jiayi county buses from Jiayi city to the Alishan Forest Recreation Area.
Details for bus tickets are as follows:
There are two buses daily
++++++++ Jiayi Train Station +++++++ Fenqihu
To +++++ 07：10 ++++++++++++++++++++ 08：50
To +++++ 15：10 ++++++++++++++++++++ 16：50
++++++++ Fenquihu ++++++++++++++++++ Jiayi Train Station

An additional bus runs on holidays
